St. Joseph's Prayer Committee

The Prayer Committee was founded to spiritually support the church's leadership, ministries, and prayer projects through consistent faith-filled prayer, seeking God's guidance for all decisions, events, and people we serve.

We are committed to praying for the ill, homebound, and those facing struggles; for the entire church body, our community, and the world; and for love, compassion, wisdom, and unity ensuring that our prayers align with God's will and purpose.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus of you.

—1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

If you would like to request prayers or a have a special prayer ribbon tied on the Prayer Fence, please contact our Committee Chair, Shirley Jones by clicking the button below.

  • The Prayer Ribbon Installation or Prayer Fence has been growing; that is because this project is overseen by the Prayer Committee and ribbons have been added for the following:

    • October: in support of Breast Cancer awareness, for petitions from the newly diagnosed, and in thanksgiving from survivors.

    • November: To commemorate All Saints/All Souls, white ribbons were written with the names of the departed and prayers for those who have passed, almost 700 names.

    • December: We are in the process of tying ribbons with prayers for Advent and will follow through with Christmas prayer ribbons

    • If you would like us to add prayers to the fence, please contact Shirley Jones or another member of the committee

  • Our committee will take ownership of the Prayer/Sick List and will introduce a new format in January 2026

  • We will continue to pray for the church leadership, parishioners, and community. If you would like prayers said for a specific event, person, or issue—again, please contact Shirley or another member of the committee. Please note that all prayer requests are confidential.

  • We have exciting new projects coming next year so stay tuned for more updates!
