St. Joseph's Community Garden
A greener future is taking root in Queens Village! St. Joseph's Community Garden is blooming!
We want St. Joseph’s Community Garden to be a beacon of hope in the fight against food insecurity, and we envision a future where everyone has access to affordable, fresh, organic, and nutritious produce. This ministry is made possible by a grant from Episcopal Ministries of Long Island to provide fresh, low-cost produce for our neighborhood. A portion of the harvest will be donated to a local food pantry.
St. Joseph's Community Garden has been featured in the Episcopal Diocese Creation Care Newsletter!
The Community Garden at St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church in
Queens Village bears witness to the Gospel by growing food
and relationships side by side, through hospitality, generosity,
and care for the earth,” said the Rev’d Canon Dr. Fred Vergara,
Interim Priest-In-Charge at St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church in
Queens Village.
On Saturday, May 10, 2025, volunteers and Community Garden Coordinator, Pearl Nurse, worked together to build raised garden beds.
