My experience at T.E.C. 44 was marvelous. When I first heard about the retreat I didn’t want to go. But Since I heard that other teens from St.Joseph’s were going I decided to go. As I first arrived I seen lots of teenagers. I wasn’t nervous because I was amongst my friends. While I was there, I met so many people. I was in Table #7 with a few people and St. Joseph’s very own Ms. Marie Gonel better known as ‘OG’ for Original Grandma.
At our table we had fun. We created posters and just had a great time. T.E.C. helped me to realize that there can be ONE thing that’s hindering you from developing a strong relationship with God.
In my cabin I had fun with the guys, cracking jokes and just having laughs. I also realized that in the cabin, there was an extra bed and in the Bible it says that, 'When two or three are gathered in His name the Lord is present’. I believed that the Lord was present. The guys and I went to bed after one in the morning. We woke before the crack of dawn and had to go to Church! I was so tired I was falling asleep with a candle in my hand. I learned from that day how wax burns! We went to church, sang songs and drew posters.
T.E.C., which stands for Teens Encounter Christ, is a great retreat for teenagers like me and you to encounter Christ.
PS. Thank you for all the letters and that you guys sent to me!
