The Outreach Ministry Of St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church
We often describe ourselves as “The little church with a big heart,” for we seek to respond to the gracious invitation of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is found in the 25th Chapter of the Gospel according to St. Matthew.
There in verse 40 Jesus stated, “Just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.”
That was Jesus’ response to the chosen who were baffled by the statement that he had just made in verses 34-36. “Come, you that are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.”
We, therefore, take our Outreach Ministry very seriously and serve with gladness and thanksgiving for the privilege of making a difference to someone less fortunate than ourselves.
We serve remembering the age old wisdom of the saying, “There, but for the grace of God, go I.”
